Smoking By-Law at the NSC Clubhouse

In response to a complaint by a fellow member, the City of Ottawa Bylaw & Regulatory Service Branch has advised the club that By-Law 2004-276 prohibits smoking within 9 meters (approximately 30 feet) of entrances and exits to the club. The NSC Clubhouse is subject to the By-law as it is owned by the City of Ottawa. The City has advised NSC that due to complaints received the by-law enforcement department, they will undertake patrols of the property and that infractions to the By-Law can also be reported directly to the City.

In the event of an infraction, the offender may be subject to a fine. The purpose of this email is to advise you of the issue and of the intent of the City to enforce the By-Law through increased patrols of the clubhouse.
