Easter Seals Annual Fundraiser and Sailing Event July 17-18

The Easter Seals Regatta in Ottawa began in 1996. In 2003 the Nepean Sailing Club took over. This year marks the second time where both clubs are working together to host an expanded program of activities for the benefit of the Easter Seals Society. Able Sail National Capital Cup Regatta, July 11th & 12th

The National Capital Able Sail Association (NCASA) is looking for your support.  Over the past 15 years, NCASA has assisted people with disabilities experience the sport of sailing.   Your previous contributions to the organization has allowed the expansion of  sailing experience from simply learning to sail to the competitive ranks and ongoing participation of sailors in international regattas and the competing at the  high performance level with Paralympic aspirations. Open to all high performance skiffs and cats; High octane racing in the heart of the nation’s capital with many world and Olympic champions expected to take part. Great spectator possibilities.

Nepean One Design Regatta. June 20th & 21st

Chair : Van Sheppard.

Open to all One Design classes (currently Sharks, Tanzer 22’s, C&C27’s, Albacores, 505’s, Fireballs, Ultimate 20’s Kirby 25’s.  Inclusive weekend of racing fun for any and all racers. Many visitors expected and Shark fleet counter for their year.

O’Pen Bic Canada Cup Unregatta. July 4th & 5th

O’Pen Bics are the new gotta love it youth boat for racing and fun. The focus of this Unregatta is firmly on fun and inclusion with prizes being awarded for show of sportsmanship, fun and good spirit rather than the usual competition. Boats are available for hire for the weekend to anyone who is interested and full on-shore activities will be included for the families too.

Fanfare Regatta. September 12th & 13th

Open to all local and traveling OD dinghy fleets (505’s, Albacores, Fireballs); Includes the now famous NSC Hip of Beef dinner on the Saturday. All welcome.

Ultimate 20 Canadian Championships. September 17th to 20th

This is the pinnacle of the Canadian Ultimate 20 keelboat season. Expect many visitors and locals alike and some exceptionally high quality racing & spectator possibilities. On shore entertainment program will be laid on too.

Nepean Cup Match Racing. October 3rd & 4th

Invitational to our own “America’s Cup” style match racing. Rules, skills, stealth and speed with be the order of the weekend and everyone has a level playing field with identical boats allocated through ballot. Great viewing and on-shore too.

National Capital Cup, July 11th & 12th

Chair: .

Martin 16 competition; Gold and Silver Fleets; typically attracts Adaptive Sail competitors (up to high-quad Paraplegic) from Quebec and Ontario, as well as local sailors. Some are preparing for the 2012 Paraolympic Games in London, England. Their major national event is the Mobility Cup 2009 in Toronto (NSC hosted the Mobility Cup in 2003).
