The Nepean One-Design Regatta is a fun-filled, action-packed event which traditionally takes place over a weekend in June. This two day regatta is hosted by the Nepean Sailing Club and is open to some of the more popular one-design keelboats and dinghies in the area.

The event takes place on the Ottawa River where it widens and is known as Lac Deschenes. It is an annual event which has been going strong for well over a decade. For more information, see the "Official Notice of Regatta".

The NOD is typically open to the following:

dinghy classes:
5o5 Class Fireball Class Albacore Class
& keelboat classes:
Shark Class Tanzer 22 Class Laser 28 Class
Kirby 25 Class Ultimate 20 CC27 Logo
J24 Class

Note: consult the "Official Notice of Regatta" for the official list of eligible classes.

The Venue

The Nepean Sailing Club is located on the Ontario side of the river in an area approximately 10 kilometers west of Ottawa's downtown core. This part of the Ottawa River is a little over 3 kilometres (2 miles) wide. Check out the photos and maps below to get a feel for the layout of the area. (Click on the thumbnails for larger images.)

Where to stay

Camping is permitted on the grounds of the Nepean Sailing Club during the NOD. However, if you are looking for something a little more plush (or want to keep your crew happy), check out this list of local hotels and motels. And if you think you may be interested in staying after the regatta to do a little cruising, be sure to check out the Virtual Cruise on the Ottawa River.
