NSC Facilities Rental – Ottawa

Situated along the Ottawa River, the Nepean Sailing Club is an ideal spot to hold any event. Located on the second level, the fully accessible East Room with its large windows offers a spectacular view of our harbour. Our room, constructed of natural wood with high-beamed ceilings, is spacious and easily configured. Its adjoining deck also adds to the perfect venue to host meetings, workshops, mini trade shows, or social events. Our picturesque location and friendly staff ensure that your event at will be a memorable one.

DESCRIPTION

The East Room is a spacious 1200 square foot room surrounded by large windows affording a great view of the harbour. The windows are equipped with full blinds to restrict or include as much natural light as you want. The available floor space is unrestricted by supporting columns, and the floor is a combination of carpet and hardwood. A full bar is available
for use at one end of the room. Full access to the second floor room is available by both inside and outside stairs as well as a self-operated elevator. Breakout rooms can be made available on both he first and second floors when renting the East Room.

East Room rental prices include the following:

• Tables and chairs (60″ diameter round tables and 4 and 8 foot rectangular tables)
• Overhead or PC Projector
• Pull-Down Screen
• VCR/TV
• Flip Charts & Markers
• PA System
• Use of adjoining deck
• One setup and take-down of NSC supplied tables and chairs per time frame.

Tablecloths are available at an additional cost.

CAPACITY

For events requiring tables and chairs, the East Room has a maximum capacity of 100 persons. Round tables generally seat 8 persons per table.

For standing events or theatre-style seating, the maximum capacity is 120 persons.

BAR

The Nepean Sailing Club is licensed by the LLBO. Alcohol may not be brought into the premises and must be purchased through the NSC bar. Special permits are not permitted at the Nepean Sailing Club. Bar drink prices are available on request.

The East Room Bar is available with Bar staff for a minimum charge of $75.00 + Tax (minimum 3 hrs at $25/hr). Additional time is charged at $25/hr or part thereof.

CATERER

The Galley, Email: TheGalley at nsc dot ca, with its resident chef, can provide you with any type of catering services, from coffee break snacks to buffet-style or sit-down dining.

MUSIC

We are pleased to welcome live music or a DJ of your choice to the premises. The NSC is licensed for all music by The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN). An additional fee will apply under the terms of this licence. Contractual arrangements for music are between you and your selected DJ/performers.

NO SMOKING

In conformance with the City of Ottawa’s bylaws, the NSC is a non-smoking facility. It is your responsibility to ensure that your guests do not smoke in the facility. Smoking is permitted 9 meters from the outside entrance of the building only. Failure to comply may result in enforcement by the City’s bylaw officers.

RENTAL FEES

Our East Room rental rates (Tax not included) are as follows:

Weddings, any day of the week: $809.52 from 10am to 1am which includes set-up and decorating time.

Our breakout rooms can be available when renting the East Room at the following additional rates:

A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required at time of rental. This deposit is applied as a credit to the total rental cost.

Other miscellaneous charges may apply for damage deposits, additional set up, tablecloths, extra clean up, and SOCAN.

The HST will be applied to all rentals stating on 01 July 2010. Please read the details (in PDF).

DISCOUNTS

Discounts on the rental rate may be available to non-profit organizations, and organizations wishing to rent the facilities on a continuing basis. Enquire at the time of renting.

NSC Members may rent or sponsor the rental for their business or organization at a 10% discount before Tax.
