The Nepean Sailing Club has adapted programs and accessible sailboats for Persons with Special Needs.
Based on your needs, various program choices are available throughout the week, with daytime and evening options.
You can progress from a demonstration session to on-water training, later trying recreational sailing and even racing.

Adaptive Sail - Daytime |

Recommended Age: Prerequisites: none Description: The Learn to Sail-Daytime is a program aimed at introducing basic sailing concepts to participants through activities on and off the water. The curriculum includes water safety, knots, sail trim (points of sail) and boat handling. By the end of the course, participants will comfortably be able to sail around a course with their companions. Participants may also achieve the CYA White Sail I, II or III standard. All registrants receive a current year NSC CrewingMembership at no charge. Length: 5 weeks, Sundays and Mondays, 1-4pm. |

Prerequisites: WS I Description: Adaptive sailors can enjoy the water at NSC by booking an available boat and making arrangements for a sailing companion. Demo/Group Sail |

Prerequisites: None Description: Demo/group sails offer individuals or groups with physical disabilities (including the visually and hearing impaired) the opportunity to sail in specially designed sailboats. Individuals are paired up with able bodied companions and taken on a 20 minute cruise of Lac Deschene. The Nepean Sailing clubhouse and site is fully accessible. Please arrange to be at the dock at least 10 minutes before your scheduled sailing time to allow adequate time for preparation. Available Time Slots: August, TBD Max # of Participants: TBD Cost:TBD |
