Venue

The CYA National Youth Sailing Championships 2010 takes place on the Ottawa River where it widens and is known as Lac Deschênes. For more information, see the “Notice of Race”.

The Venue

The Nepean Sailing Club is located on the Ontario side of the river in an area approximately 10 kilometers west of Ottawa’s downtown core. This part of the Ottawa River is a little over 3 kilometres (2 miles) wide. Check out the photos and maps below to get a feel for the layout of the area. (Click on the thumbnails for larger images.)

Where to stay

The Brookstreet Hotel, one of Ottawa’s premiere properties, is the official host hotel of the 2010 Youth National Sailing Championships. As part of their support to the community and the sport of sailing, the Brookstreet is offering a special rate of $129/night to visiting athletes, coaches, families and VIPs.

Note that camping will NOT be permitted on the grounds of the Nepean Sailing Club during the YNSC 2010.  If you wish alternative accommodations, you may also check out the list of local hotels and motels. And if you think you may be interested in staying after the regatta to do a little cruising, be sure to visit the Virtual Cruise on the Ottawa River.
