A Great Place to Inquire
The Board of Directors is made up of members, developing and overseeing club programs on behalf of members. Any voting member can join the board through the democratic process. There is a wealth of talent in any club and NSC is no different. The Board is a great place to start to inquire about opportunities to contribute in any capacity, big or small.
Revisions to Bylaw One
During the Annual General Meeting on November 1, 2012, the members voted to replace the 2002 Bylaw One with a revised version. The amendments resulted in our changing relationship with the City of Ottawa as a lease tenant, updates to membership categories, and amendments that clarify the operations of the Club. Also included are clauses covering mandatory requirements for not-for-profit organizations as a result of updates to the Ontario Corporations Act.
The 2010 Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act – “ONCA” was last amended effective Oct. 1, 2023. Not-for-profit corporations were required to update their articles (originally referred to as Letters Patent) and By-laws by no later than October 18, 2024, to be compliant.
