Only in Designated Spaces

The Nepean Sailing Club is located in Dick Bell Park, a municipal park, meaning all parking is available to the public, including members guests, and park users. Please be sure to park only in designated spaces and never along the roadways, or you may be ticketed.

Parking passes are available to NSC members and their guests for prolonged periods of parking and overflow parking access. For members on an overnight cruise, we encourage parking inside the yard.

FAQs

No. At no time is parking ever permitted on the grass along the road from Carling Avenue to the yard gate, nor anywhere in parking lots other than within designated parking spaces. Bylaw officers routinely issue tickets for such infractions.

The City of Ottawa and their Bylaw Officers monitor and enforce parking throughout the parking area.

During periods of very high club usage, the club contracts with the city to use the grass to the east of the main gate for overflow parking. This is typically done for Thursday evenings, regattas, and during the rush leading up to Launch, but cars should not park there at other times.

Parking in City of Ottawa parks, including Dick Bell Park, is generally prohibited between 2300 and 0500, year round. However, this prohibition does not apply* to NSC members or guests who are parked in the NSC parking lots with your parking pass displayed.

Except when restricted by the Rear Commodore, as is normal during the rush leading up to Launch and Haulout, parking within the NSC yard is also permitted for member overnight parking and other specific circumstances.

NSC members and guests who are parking in the overflow parking, or overnight, should display on their dash an NSC Parking Permit, downloadable from the password protected NSC Members website.

*NSC recommends using the gated yard for overnight parking when possible.

The Nepean Sailing Club is not responsible for enforcing parking nor issuing tickets. The City of Ottawa and their Bylaw Officers monitor and enforce parking throughout the parking area. If you receive a ticket but feel that you were properly parked, please contact the city directly.

Please refer to the posted signage by the boat launch for the most up-to-date information. Generally, launch pass holders are permitted to park in the specialized large parking spots directly across from the boat launch.

If you are visiting for the day, you do not need a parking pass. Parking is free at all times. NSC members can offer their guests “guest parking passes” should you need to park overnight or in a specialized parking area.
