The Nepean Sailing Club is located on the Ontario side of the Ottawa river in an area approximately 10 kilometers west of Ottawa\u2019s downtown core. This part of the Ottawa River is a little over 3 kilometers (2 miles) wide.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-14 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/nsc.ca\/images\/race_marks_on_navionics_chart.jpg\" alt=\"Lac Deschenes Sailing Area\" width=\"1053\" height=\"808\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>On-land facilities<\/h3>\n<p>A map of the clubhouse area is shown here.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-259\" src=\"https:\/\/app.box.com\/shared\/static\/dyn8sjv1em0d2iuwjknie8n5q2hrcagn.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"421\" height=\"317\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>Launching<\/h3>\n<p>For dinghies, NSC features 2 paved launch ramps, which depend on wind direction can simultaneously launch up to 4 boats at a time.<br \/>\nFor keelboats, we have 2 launch cranes each with a masting crane. These can be used only by NSC members who are familiar with their use, or by NSC-approved commercial service providers. For regattas, NSC volunteers will supervise crane usage on behalf of visiting boats.<br \/>\nHere is the <a href=\"https:\/\/nsc.ca\/nsc_harbour\/yard_parking.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NSC yard map<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>Parking<\/h3>\n<p>Ample on-site parking is available for cars and vehicles just outside the NSC clubhouse grounds and yard. Parking areas can be viewed in the <a href=\"https:\/\/nsc.ca\/web2\/members\/parking-at-nsc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NSC parking<\/a> guidelines. Do NOT park along any grass verge &#8211; you are likely to be ticketed.<\/p>\n<p>Due to space restrictions and to allow for extra visiting boats, equipment, and dedicated parking for the Able-Sailors, yard parking in the designated areas (eg. Dinghy sail) during the regatta weekend will be significantly limited.
