Social Sailing

The waters and bays around the Nepean Sailing Club provide great opportunities for social sailing and on water fun.  Throughout the year there are many organised social fun sails that aren’t so much about the finish line, when there is one, as the celebration afterwards. Check out some of our annual club events below.

Commodore’s Sailpast and Dinner
MacGregor/Venture Rendezvous
Get-Out-On-The-Water Day
NSC Baskin’s Beach Weekend
Midnight Madness Race & Corn Roast
Harbourmaster’s Challenge
Turkey Trot Pursuit and Feast

While each of these popular events has a different theme, they all have the common elements for a fantastic day. Namely; member organised, a unique on the water fun experience, post-sail activities onshore, and strong club traditions. Everything needed to discover sailing fun at NSC.

Don’t own a keelboat or have a racing handicap?   No problem, neither are required for these events and last minute crew is usually welcome anyways.

For those looking to daysail during weekdays, there is also a NSC member’s Weekday Sailing group who meet every Tuesday before noon and match crew and boats for an afternoon sail. There are plenty of other more impromptu events as well occurring throughout the year.

Not to be outdone, weeknight club racing at NSC is also highly social with the gang gathering on the large clubhouse deck and in the lounge to mix, share a meal, and swap stories afterwards. Various fleets will also arrange special post-race raft-ups and celebrations.

Additional details on these and other club sailing events can be found in the Sailing Instructions.
