Instead of Gold and Silver fleets we are featuring a Single Handed fleet (optional companion), and Double Handed fleet (mandatory crew).
“So how does that work?”
Single Handed would compete either with or without a companion. The helmsman would control all sheets, halyards and control lines either manually or with the use of the joystick and the power windlass.

Double Handed would compete as a skipper and crew (sitting in the companion seat). The skipper steers either manually or with the autohelm, and must be a person with a physical disability. The crew could be either a person with or without a physical disability, and would be responsible for controlling sails from behind the skipper, using the sail controls. As a team, the skipper and crew will be allowed to discuss tactics and make decisions together.

The entry fee for the regatta will be about $100 per boat.
We are excited about trying out this new format, and hope that it will encourage new sailors to come out and try racing, regardless of skill level.
