History
We held our first One Design regatta for keelboats in 1992 for Kirby 25 boats. Already by 1993 we had multiple One Design fleets competing at this regatta. The tradition has continued unbroken* since. In recent years, we host 50 to 90 dinghies and keelboats in 6 to 9 fleets, on multiple simultaneous race courses. This year we are delighted to be hosting both the J/22 and J/24 Canadian Championships
About One Design racing
In One Design racing, you race against boats of the same Class that have the same specification. Winning is up to the preparation and skill of each race team. Whoever crosses the finish line first and fairly wins the race. The logos below illustrate the large number and variety of Classes that have cometed at NOD over the years
