Maryetta McDowell (nee McArthur) died peacefully at age 85 from pancreatic cancer on September 30, 2026, at home in Ottawa. She was a member of NSC for 41 years along with her husband Hugh McDowell and their C&C 27 “Skygak”. She loved being on the water, sailing, racing and on race committees.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, 10 October, from 2–4 p.m. at the Nepean Sailing Club, 3259 Carling Avenue, Ottawa (Nepean), inside Dick Bell Park on the Ottawa River. All are welcome.
