Dinghy Sailing

Welcome to Dinghy Sailing at NSC!

This is your home for all things dinghy sailing. The dinghy community is run by passionate volunteers and sailors alike for NSC members to sail, learn, and grow with each other. From the Dinghy Skills & Co-Op Programs to social sails and boat maintenance days, our objective is to strengthen the dinghy sailing community.

Training

We organize the popular Dinghy Skills Program, which includes two series of 4 Friday night sessions led by an NSC sailing instructor. The program offers Bring Your Own Boat options and a few boats available to those who don’t (yet) own one.

Dinghy Race Practice is another training opportunity that focuses on the mechanics of dinghy racing (starts, marks, finishes). These are held for 3 consecutive Fridays early in the season.

Boat Access

No Boat – No Problem! We are excited to relaunch the Dinghy Coop Program, which offers sailors without a boat an opportunity to sail.

Community

In addition to formal programs, we also run community-led events and activities. These include social sails, organized boat maintenance days, and other ad hoc activities to bring the dinghy community together. You can check out the Members Page for members-only communication channels.

If you’re interested in helping organize dinghy events or wish to join the community, reach out to dinghies@nsc.ca!
