The Ottawa River Women’s Interclub Fleet Committee, with representatives from Nepean Sailing Club and Britannia Yacht Club, hosted another day of presentations and workshops on April 26, covering a range of topics from dinghy sailing and cruising to racing strategies for basic and advanced racers. Attendees included sailors from Borealis, Ottawa New Edinburgh Club, Stormont Yacht Club, Centre de Voile Grande-Rivière and Gatineau River Yacht Club.

We have been asked why we continue to hold Women in Wind when women already race in all series of the interclub racing (which has the most weeknight races per season in Canada & US clubs). The conference provides an environment where women who are experienced sailors and new members alike can learn or refine sailing skills, connect with other sailors, and build the confidence to become more valuable crew members or knowledgeable helmswomen.

The presentations can be downloaded from this folder.
