Advantage Boating is hosting a winter seminar series. On February 19th, 7:00pm atNSC. Serge Besner, a weather expert from Environment Canada, will discuss weather preparation when sailing. The cost is $5.00/per person with all proceeds going to NSC’s Youth Sailing programs. Every participant will also receive a book on weather. Thank you Advantage Boating for your support!
A recent article on the sailing news site “Scuttlebutt” did a story on one of our core training boats – the 420:
“The 420 is the youth development boat in 43 countries around the world. It is the equipment for the two-person dinghy boys and two-person dinghy girls events at the ISAF Youth Sailing World Championships, the pinnacle youth event in the world.”
It is our pleasure to invite you to NSC’s Sailing School annual Awards Dinner Banquet: Under the Sea at NSC, to be held on Wednesday August 20th 2014. This annual event showcases some of the season’s activities and highlights our successful youth sailers. We will also have the opportunity to present some of our more prestigious Youth Sailor Awards. If you’re interested in a carpool to or from the NSC Sailing School, check out our NSC Carpool form (click here to go to our Forms page). We will then put you in touch with other NSC families in your area who are also interested in carpooling. Please note: We will only put you in contact with other parents in your area who are interested in carpooling. We do not arrange carpool schedules, pick-up/drop off times, or give out your address to other parents.
A parents meeting will be held Monday July 21st at 6:00 pm in the NSC sailing school to discuss the various regattas which any interested O’pen Bic Adventure sailors may be interested in attending.
The Nepean Sailing Club Sailing School is having our annual Meet the Instructor Night this Wednesday night! You and your families are invited to join us for an evening where our 2014 Instructor Team will be able to introduce themselves to their future students, answer your questions about our programs, and offer a brief tour of the facilities and the boats we use.
Where: The Harbourview Room (East Room) of the Nepean Sailing Club

On February 28th, 2014 Sail Canada hosted their annual Sail Canada Awards evening in Toronto.
Representatives from NSC Kerri Weller, Callum Smith, and Amie Renaud attended the event to accept the William Abbott Sr. Trophy for Sail Training Program of the Year 2013. NSC representatives were joined by past Sail Training Director Hugh McGugan. more…
