Your Speakers: John and Eleanor Tutton

John Tutton has been sailing since he was about 12 years old- starting under the instruction of Graham Parkinson sailing the family Albacore (#12) at the GRYC in the ’60s and ’70s and graduating through a series of boats at NSC over the past 23 years with his wife Eleanor and family. After bareboat charters with family and friends in Canada, the Caribbean and Greece that were educational and inspiring, the Tuttons created a sailing retirement plan.
Eleanor Hatcher Tutton has been on board sailing vessels since she was 6 years old, sailing wood-hulled schooners on the Northwest Arm in Halifax, the Northeast US coast and later, Lake Champlain. After moving the family boat from Lake Champlain to NSC, the family’s summer fun was cruising the Ottawa River. The lure of quiet times in exotic places to pursue her art is part of the retirement plan.
