NSC’s Social Day-Cruising end-of-season event was a blast as sailors competed in games, including balloon sailboat creation. Our own Commodore Corey Glynn was the adjudicator, remarking how impressed he was with the group’s electric vibe.

A Season of Avid Activity

This capped a season in which 78 sailors without boats were provided 300 crew spots during 16 flotillas from May to September, each lasting three to four hours. Most of the participants gathered on the Galley deck after each outing, forged connections, built friendships and made more sailing plans.

The program organized a flotilla in the British Virgin Islands in the spring with 12 participants taking up the offer to bareboat charter two boats. In April 2025, 17 individuals will sail on three catamarans there.

The End-of-Season Party

Amid cake and nautical riddles, participants voted on a favourite photo and video capturing some of this season’s sailing magic. A special thank you was given to Tim Moses the organizer of Social Day-Cruising, Sylvie Seufert the party organizer, and all the skippers who volunteered their time and sailboats to ensure the continued success of this sailing program, and so that members without boats can get out on the water.
