Open to All Types of Keelboats With Women Skippers and Crews
Boats can have a coach or silent boat owners on board (male or female).
The warning gun will be a 2 pm.
One start for all boats with separate results for coached and non-coached boats.
The race will follow the Queen’s Park course, approximately 8.4 Nm (just past Aylmer Island and back).
All Participating Boats Must:
Be registered for racing with either BYC or NSC, including having a valid PHRF rating. If your boat is not already registered, you still have time to register.
On the day of the race, check in with the BYC Race Committee (RC) Boat prior to the first warning signal.
Give boat name and sail number
If you are already registered for Monday night racing we will use your PHRF rating for Monday nights. Otherwise inform the RC whether or not you will be flying your spinnaker(so we use the correct PHRF rating in the scoring)
Also inform the RC if you have a coach on board (helpful to fly green backstay pennant)
Specific Sailing Instructions:
Start between RC flag and “S” Mark.
Round mark at Queen’s Park to port
(Queen’s Park mark is permanent yellow race mark, not an inflatable race mark).
Finish at “S” as per SI Part H, 6.2. Distance: ~8.4 Nm.
NSC 2024 SIs Part H:
Weekend Events Specific Sailing Instructions
6.2 Where the last mark of the course is “S”, then the finish is between “S” mark and the BYC flagpole, leaving “S” mark to starboard. Should a RC boat be on station the finish is between “S” mark and the mast with the blue flag.”
6.4 In the case that a RC boat is not on station, boats will take their own time when they cross the finishing line and will report the time by midnight on the day following the race in question.
6.5 Boats that submit their finish time after the deadline stated in SI 6.4, but within 72 hours of that deadline, will incur a 2 point penalty. Results will show a code of LSP (Late scoring penalty). Boats that submit their finish time more than 72 hours after the deadline, will be scored DNC, or DNF if their presence on the race course was otherwise recorded.
6.6 Results from all clubs may be submitted by web form or email as specified on the NSC Race Results web page (nsc.ca/racing/results/finish-times-ld/). When taking their own time boats will record the actual on the clock time (hh:mm:ss), not elapsed time.
