Original Deed, Background and History of the Trophy:
The Boole Trophy was donated by Boole Construction and Development Ltd. Robert Boole was an avid Kirby 25 sailor at the time; he moved to St. Petersburg in the late 1980s. The trophy is awarded to a keelboat skipper and crew for showing outstanding sportsmanship and tenacity in club racing.
The Boole Trophy was first awarded in 1985.
This trophy is awarded at the discretion of the Fleet Captain, usually after the Fleet Captain has sought nominations from members. Sportsmanship has always been a key consideration, and in most years, participation and tenacity are primary considerations.
