This coming Wednesday at 7.30 pm Peter is back for the 3rd year with another highly entertaining presentation on sailing history. Peter will bring to life the amazing voyages on the then state of the art & skillfully constructed and rigged open wooden boats, through dangerous northern seas to Canadian shores.
Our next winter speaker might is on February 21, when Parke Davis and Henry Gilbert offer practical guidance on adding eco-friendly charging capability to your boat.
Eric Hill returns to Ottawa April 21-22 to again present his ISAF-approved Offshore Personal Survival course. This is the same course that NSC hosted in 2014 (see Jacques Adam’s report), and that BYC hosted in 2016. In 2018, it will again be hosted at Britannia Yacht Club, 2777 Cassels Street, Ottawa.
Fleet is accepting applications for Head, Senior and Junior Race Bosuns for the 2018 season. These are paid part-time positions (weeknights and some weekends) from May to October with some scheduling flexibility. Join the team running the largest race program in Canada.
“PROTEST”… Racers have you ever heard, or made, that call? Do you want to know what happens after that and in “the room”? In conjunction with Ontario Sailing, NSC is offering a Club Judge Seminar on Saturday, March 3, from 9:00 to 3:30 p.m.
NSC members Matthew and Kathleen returned last year from a year spent cruising the Caribbean on their 43 foot sailboat including buying and importing a boat, a pre-cruise refit and participating in the ARC Caribbean 1500.
Emma Moxley will describe the cruise she took last year on a new cruise ship using wonderful photos and video. She travelled from Luxembourg to historic Nuremberg Germany, travelling through 51 locks, on the Rhine, Mosel, Main and Danube.
