As we close out the sailing year and store our boats, we would like to remind members to not leave electrical heaters running in their boats and to lock up their ladders. Pump out and yard water services were winterized Friday, November 11.
Reminder … there will be a PHRF Sail Measuring for anyone who has sails that need measuring, or who needs help completing their PHRF Application form.
The NSC harbour will be closing on Nov. 11th 2022. Please ensure that your boats are pumped out before then. If your boat is on W dock, the east side of A dock from A-02 to A-44, X-31 to X-40 or the West side of A dock and the East side of B dock, please…
Per NAVWARN NW-C-1894-22 issued 2022-10-26, a new unlit green ORT buoy with identification K9 has been installed at 45° 24.049’N 075° 53.537’W, approximately 0.3 Nm northwest of Aylmer Island. This buoy has been added to the Navionics database as displayed here.
October 29 is the Annual NSC cooperative haulout day for some trailered boats. To make the process run smoothly, the Yard will be closed to vehicle traffic. Members can still access the Yard on foot and use dock-carts. The group anticipates being finished by noon and access will return to normal.
Attention members who are still sailing at night: the lights from all channel marks, and the bifurcation mark, have been removed for the winter. Additionally, the outer red and green channel marks have been removed and replaced with temporary white marks. Please proceed with caution.
Found today on the comma dock. A beige coloured main sail cover. Come claim it at the office.
NSC’s annual Turkey Trot pursuit race ran on Thanksgiving Monday, October 10, on a beautiful sunny day. The winds were initially very light, which meant the course was only once around, though a shifty northwest wind at 6-12 knots filled in shortly after the first boats crossed the start line.
Work is already underway in the Yard and Harbour to prepare for Fall and Haulout. There are important milestone dates for Member Boat-Owners in the Harbour, Park and Trailer Launch areas.
