Keelboat Thursday Evening Time Trials

The first Thursday evening “time trial” ran July 16, in a blustery warm breeze out of the south at 8-15 knots. In these time trials, boats start within a 1-hour start window, sailing against the clock, and results are scored using time-on-time handicaps, similar to how our regular races are scored. Important Information for Members With Trailers at NSC (updated)

This is an important message for all members who have boat trailers at NSC, whether in the yard or along the fence line. First, please provide the NSC Front Office (admin@nsc.ca) your trailer licence plate number and the colour, make, and type of your trailer (sail or power) as soon as possible and before 5 July so we can ensure our information is up to date. Second, please note that the City’s permission for trailers and cars to park on the grassed area outside the yard ends on 5 July.  All trailers not authorized to be in the yard (ie. those that came to NSC after 2008) and are not removed from the NSC location by their owner are likely to be subject to ticketing and potentially towed by the City if left in the grassed area after 5 July.

On-Water Sail-Faster Clinics – Tues And Wed

Updated 11 July: Clinic is no longer offered on Thursday, as Thursday time trials are starting.
Every year you promise “I will tune-up my trim and sail better.” Then you are distracted by all the awesome NSC events. Well, this is finally the year. Bring 1 or more sailboats and a skilled volunteer, and the club provides the support boat and driver. Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. First come, first served. No fee. more…
