For members with boats being stored in the yard this Winter, the staff will be disconnecting all power cords from yard power as of Monday, 14 December 2020. Winter yard access will be via the West gate except after a snowstorm. Please check with the Front Office to confirm accessibility.
The 2020 AGM was held over Zoom on December 16, with 106 participants, without any major technical issues. Below is the original notice, along with the links to the AGM docs.
The 2020 Annual General Meeting for the Nepean Sailing Club has been shifted
If you happen to go to the yard this winter to check on your boat and see other boats’ tarps have come loose, or any other situation that appears amiss, please try to identify the boat and make the staff aware (Julie: admin@nsc.ca or James: facilities@nsc.ca) so the owner(s) can be contacted.
It comes with deep regret to inform you that after a review of existing conditions effecting the Clubâs Hospitality Services, the decision has been made by the NSCâs Board of Directors to suspend these services (effective November 19th 2020) for the remainder of the autumn and winter months. Â
Nominations are now open for the 2020 NSC Annual Volunteer Achievement Award (NAVAA). This award is for the NSC member who has demonstratively made an exceptional volunteer contribution to the aims, objectives and betterment of the Club in the past year. As identified by their fellow members.
Wow! For its 10th anniversary, it was a fabulous summer for the Jacques Adam River Challenge. Good wind and good participation with pretty fast times!
It is with great sadness that we report the passing of NSC member Barry Martin, a regular crew member on C&C 27 “Velero”. See this obituary. Family and friends are invited to attend virtually a funeral that will be live streamed at 1100 a.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020.
One of the Club’s members has reported that their Dodger frame, made up of several sections, and a ratchet set, went missing between 26 and 29 October 2020.
