Keelboat Thursday Evening Time Trials
The first Thursday evening “time trial” ran July 16, in a blustery warm breeze out of the south at 8-15 knots. In these time trials, boats start within a 1-hour start window, sailing against the clock, and results are scored using time-on-time handicaps, similar to how our regular races are scored. Every year you promise “I will tune-up my trim and sail better.” Then you are distracted by all the awesome NSC events. Well, this is finally the year. River Challenge 2020 Is Open
It’s the ultimate social distancing event. From NSC, sail as an individual boat up-river and back as fast as you can. Any time night or day until October 31, you choose when to go. Pinheys Point – Navigation
Update June 5: The log reported at Pinhey’s Point has been towed to shore and tied to the Pinhey’s Point dock by a helpful boater Luc Lafreniere. The log has also acquired a name, Mr. Round, courtesy of Luc’s daughter.
