With Ontario moving to Step 3 in COVID measures on 16 July, we will be able to enjoy our boats and the club for the remainder of the season. Members who have not yet launched their boats are asked to get them in the water as soon as possible so the yard space can be maximized. The 21 day grace period after commercial launch expired on 26 June.

New Commercial Launch Success!
A huge thank you to the volunteers who organized and conducted another very successful launch on Saturday, 5 June. Once again, despite the challenges imposed by the pandemic, the teams performed a flawless series of launches with some 70 boats placed in the harbour by early afternoon. “BZ” to all.
Deadline to Inform NSC of Your Launch Decision
With COVID-19, the Club is faced with some challenges this season and while we continue to attract new members and our harbour is filling very nicely, it is recognized that some members may decide to not launch this year. In order to be able to manage the harbour and yard in the best way possible, members who decide not to launch this year are requested to inform the Front Office, with a copy to Gene Bruce (manager at nsc.ca) and Harbourmaster (rearcommodore at nsc.ca) as soon as possible and before 4 July 2020. Club (Commercial) Launch: 13 June 2020

Let’s Get Our Boats on the Water!
Members, we are fortunate to have a good season ahead to enjoy our boats. With the warmer weather, upriver outings and sunset sails await! The yard access plan is working well and members are encouraged to come to the club to prepare and launch their boats. Cooperative Trailer Launch set for 6 June 2020
For all those keel boats on trailers that participate in the volunteer cooperative launch, the date has now been set as 6 June 2020. Please note that due to COVID-19, procedures will be modified in order to keep all participants safe. Further details will be sent out by the organizers; Erin O’Connor and Kim MacDonald, in the coming days for members who are planning to take advantage of this.

Club (Commercial) Launch was successfully completed this past Saturday (June 8). Despite a mechanical problem with one of the cranes, all boats were in the water by 1500 hrs. A huge thank you to the organizers, crew chiefs and many volunteers who made it all happen so smoothly. “Bravo Zulu” to all!
Federal Boating Ban Lifted for Ottawa River (Lac Deschenes)
As of 4 June 2019, Transport Canada has announced on their website that the boating ban has been lifted for all of the Ottawa River, including that portion navigable from NSC. Let’s go sailing and boating!
