A Roman-themed celebration!
Polish up those chariots and get out your togas, tunics, centurion helmets and Cleopatra gowns – and don’t forget to mark June 12 on your sundials to celebrate A Roman Sailpast. Click here to reserve online, or keep reading for all the details!
NSC’s premier event of the season will start at 12 noon when we will congregate at the NSC amphitheatre (around the flagstaff) for a burgee presentation honouring our club’s new Flag Officers, past Board members and our most loyal and treasured members – those celebrating 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of membership.
Then at 2:00 pm we’ll meet out on the lake to salute our esteemed Emporer (Commodore) in the time-honoured tradition of a Sailpast by dipping our sails as we pass the stern of the Commodore’s Galley. That will be followed by a spinnaker parade, for those who have them. (Sailing instructions will be available at the bar.)
At 4:00 pm, meet back on the deck for ice-cold Caesars and tunes.
At 6:00 pm, enjoy a fantastic Roman Feast presented by the Galley and your very own Social Committee, followed by dancing to the ever-popular Richer & Rose Band.
Theme for the day: Roman Attire – Togas – Gladiators – Centurions – Galley slaves, etc.

Please note that the deadline for reservations is 12 noon on Friday June 11. The Social Committee’s costs for this event are determined by the number of reservations at that time. Therefore no cancellations will be permitted after the reservation cutoff. If you reserved and did not cancel before 12 noon on June 11, you will be billed.
We apologize for having to implement this new policy, but Social can no longer afford to bear the expense of people who reserve but do not attend, or cancel at the last minute.
Thank you – we look forward to seeing you on the 12th!
