It’s 2019 – that means its our club’s 40th Birthday – and 40th Sailpast! Come join the celebrations with us July 5 – 7 (with the formal sailpast proceedings on Saturday July 6th). We have a whole host of events, activities, and ceremonies to help you join in the 40th Anniversary Sailpast.

What is Sailpast?

Great question – Like many things in sailing, the sail-past tradition has its roots in the Royal Navy. On special occasions, fleets would be reviewed by the Admiral while they “sailed past“.

This year at NSC, Sailpast is a weekend of fun, but the tradition-based-sailing part is a quick Saturday sail with a stop on water to salute the Commodore and then back to the harbour for “refreshments and socializing” (code for food and drinks).

Additionally, if you’ve been a member at NSC for “some-number-of-years-divisible-by-five”, (starting at 10 years) you’ll also be invited to receive a commemorative, customized, NSC burgee.

This dinner is SOLD OUT For Saturday dinner we will offer a BBQ Steak with baked potato, Salad, Rolls and 40th Anniversary Cake with ice-cream.
