NSC and Ontario Sailing are hosting a 1/2 day Sail Canada introductory Race Management seminar on Sunday May 28th. If you are interested in joining the popular community of Race Committee volunteering, or would like to learn more about Race Committee signals, this course is for you.
I’m very happy to report that the yard and harbour have reopened for business with the exception of W dock, the service docks and docks immediately in front of the club house which remain closed until further notice.
Postponed to May 27 as a result of the flooding. He will be onsite during the Yard Sale starting around 9 am, and conduct his workshop on the Harbourview Room starting at 1.30 pm.
The yard is now open to foot traffic only during daylight hours. You may access the yard via the pedestrian gate at the main entrance and not through the club as there is still water and the sand bag wall blocking access.
Unfortunately, due to continued high water levels, the club launch has been re-scheduled to May 20, 2017. The docks and yard continue to be closed until further notice.
This just in: Water levels have been dropping (a little) since yesterday and are now low enough that the building is out of the immediate “danger zone”.
The river-level, sandbags and pumping operations are all “holding”. The Club is mostly dry and your boats are all secure. Our original request for help will cover us until Tuesday May 9 at 09h00. With an eye on river-level projections, we’re asking for a second round of help on a modified schedule. 20 additional volunteers…
Amazing response people, thank you!! We’re in very good shape for help over the next few days….please have a look at the attached, updated schedule and let me know if I have you in the wrong spot…
