An 8-inch diameter deadhead was spotted October 18 just northwest of KN6, the last red mark you pass on leaving the harbour. Another 12 inch diameter deadhead was spotted October 23 near Constance Bay in the channel between K11 and K10 about 40 meters east of K11.

Early end to Jacques Adam River Challenge
The Jacques Adam River Challenge (JARC) is ending early this year. All attempt submissions must be submitted by 2100 on Sunday, October 18, to be eligible for the 2020 ranking. The JARC has enjoyed tremendous popularity this year, with as many attempts in 2020 as in the previous 4 years put together!

Crane Familiarization – 10 October 2020
A crane familiarization session will be held at the North crane on Saturday, 10 Oct at 11:00 AM. On arrival, please sign up with Parke Davis who will lead the session. As a reminder, training on the NSC cranes is mandatory for members wanting to use them for haul out or for taking down masts. The boat, “Erin’s’ Way” will be used as the training vehicle. Face masks are mandatory.
Winter Yard Storage is at a Premium – Do you have other options?
Winter yard storage at NSC is at a premium for this coming winter, and some members with new boats are being told they cannot keep their boats at NSC this winter. Is your boat on a trailer, and is there somewhere else that you could store it this winter? If so, you are encouraged/requested to do so, if not too inconvenient.
