Dinghy and catamaran Wednesday night racing starts July 29. Everyone on the boat must be in the same social circle. Perfect event for any type of catamaran or dinghy. The small-boat fleets are very happy to help new boats learn to race – get in touch.
Update: These marks will be removed at end of Wednesday 22 July. Original notice: We have placed inflatable marks just North of the NSC channel, for boaters to self-practice. Each mark is an inflatable orange or yellow tetrahedron.

Amended 19 July 2020. Monday evening Womenâs keelboat time trials are added. The maximum number of laps is increased to 3. At the end of each lap except her final lap, a boat shall round a drop mark, not the timing boat. The timing boat flag is changed to the RC flag.
NSC hosted its first two sailing events of 2020 on June 28 and July 12, sailing up to Pinhey’s Point and back, using a new “time trial” format, where boats started within a defined window. Both events proved popular, with 9 boats participating in the first, and 18 in the second.
BYC hosted the first Queen’s Park event in a “time trial” format, on Sunday, July 19, with a blustery wind out of the Southwest. See the results. For reference, these were the instructions. Start & finish times were due by midnight, July 20.
Updated 19 July 2020: instructions are posted. Monday evening keelboats for womens teams will start on Monday 20 July. Spinnaker optional. Coach-on-board optional. Time trial format, similar to the existing Thursday time trials.

The first Thursday evening “time trial” ran July 16, in a blustery warm breeze out of the south at 8-15 knots. In these time trials, boats start within a 1-hour start window, sailing against the clock, and results are scored using time-on-time handicaps, similar to how our regular races are scored.
