The NSC-hosted Stony Point Race runs this Sunday, August 7, with the warning at 1000, per Part H and Annex A of the Sailing Instructions. Baskin’s Beach – Saturday, August 6
Baskin’s Beach is NSC’s most popular up-river social event of the summer. The Baskin’s Beach property is a privately owned park, about 4 miles past Pinhey’s Point. Upwards of 50 boats will make the voyage up-river, while others will drive up for an afternoon of games, socializing and food. more…
Report on NSC Club Championship, July 23-24
The inaugural NSC Club Championships were held in shifty southerly winds of 8 to 12 knots with gusts in the high teens, on July 23 & 24. Representatives from the J-22 fleet, the 505, the C&C 27, PHRF Division 2, JAM B and the 2.4mR fleets competed in equally matched 2.4mR sailboats provided by their owners. more…

Report on Queen’s Park Race #1, July 17
BYC hosted the first Queen’s Park Race on Sunday, July 17; this was the third race of the Interclub Long-Distance (ILD) Series. There was almost no wind at the scheduled warning time of 1330, but nevertheless, the sequence was started just as enough wind filled in to barely move the ~15 boats off the start line. more…

Saturday, July 16th, began with bright sunny weather and calm, near-perfect conditions for swimming for the 15th annual Bushtukah Bring on the Bay Open Water Swim in support of Easter Seals. After a 2-year “COVID” pause, almost 170 volunteers came out to support the swimmers. more…
Bushtukah BOTB Swim: Harbour Closure, Saturday, July 16, 0700-0830
The Bushtukah Easter Seals Open Water Bring On The Bay Swim is set again this year for the morning of Saturday, July 16. Please note that for the safety of the swimmers, the harbour entrance will be closed from 0700-0830, except for boats that are involved with this event. The Ottawa Fire Water Rescue Unit will be stationed at the harbour entrance controlling traffic. more…
