We are excited to share that National Capital Able Sail Association (NCASA) has been selected by @CTJumpstart to receive a grant from their Sport Relief Fund. The fund helps community sport organization continue to provide access to sport and play for Canadian kids.
This grant will go a long way towards helping the Nepean Sailing Club (NSC) operate a NEW Youth Day Camp Sailing Program, specifically focused on children with physical disabilities.
A dedicated staff of coaches and companion-sailors will allow NSC to operate the Day Camp Sailing Program, with the goal of encouraging new young sailors to embrace sailing as a recreational and competitive sport.
NSC has adaptive sailing programs and accessible Martin 16 sailboats for individuals with physical disabilities. Our ABLE Sail programs cater to all levels of sailors from never sailed to competitive racers. The Martin 16 is a small keelboat with specialized control systems to fit the needs of sailors with any level of physical disability. Nepean Sailing Club facilities and site are fully accessible.
NSC is a designated Provincial Paralympic Training Centre.
We are extremely proud to have Paralympic athletes, Christine Lavallée and Aaron Wong-Sing, train at NSC under the leadership of Coach, Peter Wood.
We look forward to welcoming you to our innovative programs and the joy of sailing!
