Dinghy Sailing beyond CanSail2
Completed CanSail2 and ready for more? Experienced keelboat sailor looking to try out dinghy sailing? Or maybe you’re just looking to practice your skills in a fun, supportive way way? The Dinghy Skills Program is for you!
What is it?
The Dinghy Skills Program is part of NSC’s Fleet Training. The program is for all sailors who are looking for more opportunities to practice dinghy sailing in a fun and encouraging environment. It focuses on skills development beyond CanSail 2, and includes both on-land and on-the-water sections (but mostly on water!). The program is an excellent way to ease into Wednesday night dinghy racing.
When is it?
The Dinghy Skills Program includes two four-week long sessions run on Friday evenings. For 2026, the dates are:
- Session 1: July 3, July 10, July 17, July 24
- Session 2: July 31, August 7, August 14, August 21
How do I sign up?
2026 registration is available here. Registration is done on Clubspot and participants will need a Clubspot account. If you don’t yet have one, you’ll be prompted to create one when completing the registration flow.
For 2026, pricing will be $50 for bring-your-own-boat, and $100 for club boats.
Participants can use their own boat, a club 420, or one of the Dinghy Coop boats (new for 2026)!
