Vipers

Viper 640 sailboats sailing downwind with colorful spinnakers

The Viper 640 is the fastest keelboat, by PHRF rating, at NSC.  It is also one of the smallest keelboats at NSC.  It is a sport boat, with a modern design that is easy to sail and very responsive.  The fleet at NSC is based right next to the south crane and we are always happy to share information about our fleet with anyone interested in fast and fun sailing.  We participate in PHRF racing on Tuesdays, in One Design racing on Thursdays and some of the long-distance events on the weekends.  As we have a PHRF rating, a woman helm could also participate in the Women’s racing on Monday evening with the boat.

The Viper fleet at NSC is very active and several owners take advantage of the boats’ ease of transportation to participate in the Viper Great Lakes Series throughout the sailing season, in addition to our local racing series.  For those who like to get away in the winter and enjoy sailing somewhere warm, there is also a winter series based in Florida that is well attended.  If you are looking for a boat that is easy and fun to sail with a crew of 3-4 and that can be raced locally, provincially, nationally and internationally, you should come talk to us.
