At the Annual Awards Night several special awards are presented. These are awarded at the Fleet Captain’s discretion based on members’ nominations and include the following:
- The Commodore’s Cup is awarded to the member or group of members, or the skipper & crew group, making the most significant and meritorious contribution to the cause of competitive sailing for, or in the name of, the Nepean Sailing Club, in the past year. (The Commodore’s Cup is awarded at the discretion of the Commodore, based on the recommendation of the Fleet Captain.)
- The Boole Trophy is awarded to a keelboat skipper and crew for showing outstanding sportsmanship and tenacity in club racing.
- The Dumper’s Plaque is awarded to the club member(s) demonstrating the most original boat handling techniques. The Dumper award is open to boaters of all types and self-nomination is allowed.
Additional information about each of these awards is available in our Trophy Gallery, by clicking on the links above.
As is tradition, all members are invited to nominate NSC sailors, boats or groups for the above awards. Nominations for these awards are a chance for you to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of your fellow members. Don’t miss this opportunity to make a difference in our club’s community – submit your nominations using this Nomination Form. (If the form does not load for you, send a few lines about whom you are nominating, and why). Attachments (e.g. photos) are welcome.
Email the completed form to the Fleet Captain at fleet@nsc.ca, by October 31st.
