Winter Speaker

For the past 15 years, NSC has scheduled a Winter Speaker Series on Wednesday evenings from January to April to keep the sailing community together, to inform and discuss topics of interest to sailors and help raise funds for youth sailing. 

The Winter Speaker Series has been suspended, in accordance with NSC’s COVID-19 Plan. Here is the link to the original 2020 schedule. Check back for updates once things settle down.

Speaker Nights are postponed due to measures to combat the spread of Covid-19, until April 5.

Now on March 11! Rescheduled due to winter storm on Feb 26. Check other changes to our schedule here. The Ottawa Fire Service Ice/Water rescue team has specialized equipment and training, and are designated first responders on the Ottawa River, and other bodies of water within the city boundaries.

Richard will go over the types and reasons for sailboat surveys that he does and the equipment he uses to do them. He will review from the smallest boat  to the largest!

We have had requests to make our speaker series presentations available online. We have had a series of terrific presentations, and there is a lot of valuable information that you may not find anywhere else on the web.
