Sailing Away: Making Your Dream a RealityIt’s that time of year to kick off our popular Winter Speakers Series! This series of talks is open to the entire sailing community of Ottawa, is volunteer run and is donations-based. This is one of the best kept secrets of winter for sailors and boaters!

Wed, May 1st: David Searle: The 2013 Racing Rules. The Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) are the rules that govern the conduct of the sport of sailboat racing and include the so-called “right of way” rules for boats that are racing.
Wednesday, April 10th: Paul Henderson, The Pope of Sailing. Insights from the past president of the International Sailing Federation. Thursday, April 11th: Damian Foxall on The Volvo Ocean Race. World Class Ocean Racing: Competing at the top.
The kick-off evening will be held on Saturday, February 16th, 7:30. (We will go back to Wednesdays after the kick-off evening.)
Nepean Sailing Club will be hosting a series of speaker series talks throughout the course of the winter. The first talk is scheduled for Jan 13 at 1PM with a sport psychologist.

Story of an Atlantic Crossing. In 2008, after two years of preparations, Antoine and two friends set out aboard a C&C 30, “Cousin”, to cross the Atlantic. The voyage took them from their homes in Longueil, Quebec through the Gulf of St. Lawrence, across to the Azores, and then north to France.
