In line with the 30 March COVID-19 provincial and municipal government direction, these series of courses are suspended.
NSC has organized some courses during the 2020 sailing pre-season to get you into the sailing mindset early. BYC is also hosting some courses we’re sure you will want to attend. Beat the winter doldrums, hone your sailing skills, and be the first across the finish line.
A one day Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Radar course is being offered at BYC on Saturday, September 28, 1000-1700, and NSC members are welcome to register.
Eric Hill returns to Ottawa March 23-24 to again present his World Sailing-approved Offshore Personal Survival course. This is the same course that NSC hosted in 2014 (see Jacques Adam’s report), and that BYC hosted in 2016 & 2018. In 2019, it will again be hosted at Britannia Yacht Club, 2777 Cassels Street, Ottawa.

“PROTEST”… Racers have you ever heard, or made, that call? Do you want to know what happens after that and in “the room”? In conjunction with Ontario Sailing, NSC is offering a Club Judge Seminar on Saturday, March 3, from 9:00 to 3:30 p.m.
NSC and Ontario Sailing are hosting a 1/2 day Sail Canada introductory Race Management seminar on Sunday May 28th. If you are interested in joining the popular community of Race Committee volunteering, or would like to learn more about Race Committee signals, this course is for you.
An ISAF/Sail Canada accredited Offshore Personal Survival Course instructed by Eric Hill will be hosted at BYC on April 23rd and 24th, 2016. See seasurvival.ca/course-information.html for details. No prerequisite qualifications or sailing experience required. Completion awards an ISAF personal offshore safety certificate, valid for five years for offshore racing.
